Can't remember who you are anymore, after 6-12 months of being referred to only as 'mum' (by OTHER ADULTS)? Let Karen help make the transition back to work easier, mum. Joking.
Why we love this course
When you become a mum for the first time your whole identity changes. No one really tells you that, but it’s true. No matter how long you have waited for your bundle of joy to arrive, no matter how much you love being a parent, your sense of self, self-worth and confidence take a severe battering. The sleep deprivation doesn’t help, obviously.
So, when it comes to getting back to work, it can be tough. You’re not who you were before but you sort of are. You want people to see you in the same way as they did before, but they sort of won’t. And to top it all off, you can’t even remember the password to log into your work laptop.
Unfortunately, Karen’s brilliant course can’t help with that last one but it can, thankfully, help get you mentally fit for the big return and ensuing work/life juggle/struggle. In this self-paced, supportive and empowering course, Karen draws on her own experiences and those of other working mums she has coached, to take the stress out of returning to work so you will feel comfortable and ready when the time comes.
Crucially, taking this course early enough into your maternity leave (though we recommend not till the haze of the first 3 or 4 months has passed), will help you to enjoy your time off *ahem*, rather than worry about what comes next. It will help you to find a new sense of self, based on who you are now, not who you were before this monumental change occurred (and certainly not based on the one-dimensional ‘mum’ badge that society has now thoughtfully thrust upon you).
You’ll complete this course feeling confident, capable and in control, ready to return to working life. Now, where did you put your ID badge…?
