Working mum re-evaluating your career, Karen Hudson

If neither your jeans nor your old career fit you after starting a family, this course from certified coach Karen Hudson will help you to work out your next move. Unfortunately this course doesn’t cover the jean issue but hey, elasticated waist bands exist for a reason, right?

Why we love this course

Just like those pre-pregnancy jeans, sometimes the career you had before you had children doesn’t fit quite as well as before. Sometimes the career you had before might have come to an end (ah, the classic pregnancy redundancy technique). Sometimes you just feel ready for a change or want to create a ‘plan B’. But, it can be hard to know where to start. Between work and home commitments, there’s not much room for shopping around to find the perfect career (or jeans, tbf).

This 5 week live workshop will help you to re-evaluate, refocus and reframe your career so that you can work out what’s next for you and, crucially, how to get there. Through group and 1:1 coaching, Karen will help you to assess your options and design a career that will give you what you need in both work and life. She believes that with thoughtful planning, it is possible to maintain a successful professional life while still making time for pickups, attending school plays and only occasionally hiding from the PTA.

Karen will also help you to re-evaluate your worth. Just because work is now not your only focus in life, doesn’t mean that you are worth less. So, don’t be afraid to charge your clients what your time is really worth, ask for that payrise or up your prices. We know, it’s painful, but you need to listen to your Aunty Discoco on this one.

This course will help you become a stronger version of yourself, both at home and in the workplace, without feeling suffocated by the pressure of either.
