You write every day to communicate with other people… but how often do you write to communicate with yourself? No, searching for funny GIFs doesn’t count.

Journalling has become cool again because, guess what, writing down your thoughts can help you clear mental clutter so you can reduce stress, get more productive and creative, and be honest with yourself about what you really want to achieve. 

So, dust off your 14 year old diary writing skills and get ready to adapt them to your 21st century self, as Saša Jankovic shows you how good the simple act of putting pen to paper can be for your mental well-being. Importantly, Saša shares her expert techniques to get your creative juices flowing so you can really express yourself through your writing. Even if that’s not normally ‘your thing’.

You will meet, as part of a group, for one hour a week over Zoom to explore some of the current thinking around the connections between journalling, creativity and mental health, as well as kickstarting your journalling practice with simple writing exercises, and homework to attempt for the following week.

The next six-week introductory Write It Out course starts on Tuesday 15 June at 7pm, on Zoom. All you need is a notebook, a pen, and an open mind – and don’t worry, you won’t have to share what you write unless you want to.
