Claire is a writer and former lawyer. Her business, Five Rubies, helps help creative entrepreneurs and individuals discover and share their stories with confidence and impact.
Claire is a writer who loves a good story. As a child she spent hours lost in the adventures of a good book, perched on the branches of a magnolia tree. She came down to earth with a bump (no, she didn’t fall out of the tree, as far as we know) when she started her career as a lawyer. Though she enjoyed the work she did, she never really felt passionate about it. Making sure all the words were in the right place in a legal document didn’t give her quite as much of a thrill as setting down a story in her own words. No surprises there.
Then, one night, she dreamt the idea for her first novel. Not fair, all we dream about is our teeth falling out and forgetting to put our trousers on for the school run. So, she gave up the law, starting work on her novel (which we assume isn’t about social faux pars and dentures) and started blogging about her personal experiences. After receiving positive feedback at a speaking engagement, Claire became more aware than ever that personal stories have power, not just for the teller, but for the receiver too. From here, Five Rubies was born. Now Claire helps individuals and creative entrepreneurs to find their voice and tell their story so they can better connect with their clients and customers.
Claire lives in Nottingham with her family, loves running by the River Trent, coffee, good food and wine and of course, notebooks. Oh, and she’s on the second draft of that novel…
