Karen is an accredited coach, trainer, mentor and TV Exec who supports women to move through the ‘how the hell do I manage work and motherhood’ phase (whenever that might occur), without losing their marbles. Or dropping them in the first place, for that matter.
Karen knows a thing or two about maintaining calm in chaos. She has two young children, a huge extended family (her mum is one of 10) and a demanding dog called Doris. On top of this, she has spent the last 18 years working in an equally demanding (we assume, we don’t know exactly how demanding Doris is…) job as a freelance exec in the TV industry. Hopefully she at least got to avoid children and animals at work.
Luckily for the people she now works with as a coach, trainer and mentor, Karen loves helping other people manage their lives and find joy and fulfilment in their own chaos. She mentors TV colleagues, manages teams and even set up ‘walk and talk’ sessions for fellow new mums (after she became a mum herself) to share the highs and lows of parenting. She found her own jolt into motherhood just as life-changing as the rest of us, but felt that her coaching training helped her to make sense of the transition from normal human woman to ‘mum’, navigating the ‘who the hell am I?’ moments along the way.
Inspired by her own experience and the time spent with other mums talking through their challenges, she has created a series of supportive courses to help women to navigate the complexities of work and motherhood. She wants to help all women find their identity again so that they feel empowered to make choices that are right for them and their family.
We could all do with finding a better balance between the joys of work and motherhood and the inevitable guilt and frustration that often sometimes comes with it. Let Karen help you to stop beating yourself up and start enjoying your mad but brilliant life.
